Gypsy Chief to Hammer Horror - Day 7 of Bond 365

I have caught the cold that is going around, so I apologize but this will be a short entry.

Francis de Wolff
Francis de Wolff
Born January 7, 1913
Vavra in From Russia With Love

De Wolff had a lengthy acting career working with several big names stars that included Lawrence Olivier and Vivien Leigh in Fire Over England (1937), Robert Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor in Ivanhoe (1952), and Gregory Peck and Orson Welles in Moby Dick (1956). However, he is probably best remembered for his work with Hammer Studios in which he had been a regular supporting actor.

De Wolff re-united with From Russia With Love director Terence Young for spy film Triple Cross (1966), which starred another Bond alum, Claudine Auger from Thunderball. And, he worked with another Bond actor, Roger Moore, in the series The Saint.

De Wolff passed away in 1984.

Separately, heartfelt condolences to the family of Khan Bonfils who passed away suddenly on Monday, January 5. Bonfils had supporting roles in Tomorrow Never Dies (per Wikipedia, but his role isn’t listed in IMDB) and in Skyfall as a henchman.

RIP Khan 'Kan' Bonfils
