Jenny Hanley
Born this day in 1947
The Irish Girl in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
The beautiful Jenny Hanley was born in Buckinghamshire and
got her acting role as “Married Woman” (uncredited) in the film Joanna (1968). Her second role was as “The Irish Girl” in
Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) in which she was the one of
the girls at Blofeld’s mountain institute.
Hanley went on to work with the Hammer Films franchise,
working with Bond alum Christopher Lee in Scars of Dracula (1970). She also bumped into Sir Roger Moore when
she made a guest appearance as Magda in the episode “Someone Waiting” (1971)
from the series The Persuaders!
Most of Hanley’s work was in television with her last guest appearance on West
Country Tales’ “The Wit to Woo” as Lavinia in 1983.
What is interesting is that Hanely’s grandmother, who was a
photographer, happened to launch the career of a young male model: Roger Moore.
And many years later, Hanley worked with him on The Persuaders! – very cool!
